Art 50 – The Big One

ARTIPOEUS TURNS 50!  And navigates the big 5-0 through Avigdor Arikha‘s Landscapes at Blain Southern in Berlin.  I went to the Blain Southern gallery actually for the free booze.  When you’re older, no one buys you drinks anymore.  That sounds so depressing and it’s not actually true.. But it’s a little true.  An artist I know said they were interested in seeing the work of Avrigdor Arikha, landscapes done in an Impressionist style.

Now, I hate Impressionism…

Art 49 – There and Back Again: An Art Odyssey

Artipoeus visits German artist Malte Kebbel‘s Monoliths on the Glienicker Bridge in Potsdam.  We were headed to Potsdam to see some Monoliths on the Bridge of Spies.  I didn’t tell Sam and Julius much about our quest, but I figured: who doesn’t want to go on an adventure that involves traveling through a forest of ancient trees, exploring a beautiful palace, crossing a treacherous bridge and confronting a monumental symbol of power?  I mean…  what else are you gonna do on a Sunday?

Featuring: “The Blue Danube” by Johann Sebastian Strauss II.
